3D model Attention Mike 303

Mike
my 3d model is huge...... and is unable to be loaded on the net..... i have included downloads to my files.... i hope that is sufficient
also my building finally got into sketchup however i am missing vital geometry.... all three shards as in the 3d model ... so i fell it is pointless for me to place a half model in these areas
... thanks willy

i also have been tackling lightstudio over the past few days........ an i hates it! initially my builing couldnt even be imported into the lightstudio engine in 3Ds MAX ..... then there was USER ERRORS such as missing geometry and BAD ARGUMENTS such as conflicting 3D layers, kind of ironic when you consider my theme of conflict.... then there was ERROR REPORTS such as no space for octrees...... all resulting in the crashing of the program.....
well to begin resolving i used to optimize tool in VIZ to reduce polygons within the model
then i researched and found out what an octree is, its a huge recording of data file memory in the order of numbers hence my drives were running out of space...... because there were so many polygons to be calculated
so i have come to a conclusion as to why revit dose not work in lightstudio in VIZ.... this is because revit is very inefficient!! it produces a simple small cube with 40 or more polygons where as it can be reduced to merely 12 using the optimize tool.....
so i blame this on the programs they both are very inefficient! revit because it makes to many unessacary polygons and lightstudio because it uses an oldfashioned data collection system for calculating ..... so its silly...
anyways after wasting so much time contemplating on what the hell is going on here are the very poor looking lightstudio renders of mine.....

After extreme diffucultys in applying maps to materials and so on to produce adaquate materials that can similarily represent a photorealistic image of my building.... i have done it! its taken 3 days but after domination of 6 computers.... roughly..... and round the clock mental ray renderings i have produced a hand full of images mostly to the size of 1800 x 1200 that define a concept of conflict within my building
please marvel....

thanks for replying , managed to figure it all out any way i tried it agian this morning an it work only occasionally crashing... 1 every 2 times....... anyway ive managed to get out 6 resonable light simulations so all was not lost...

i have also tried uploading my building into Rayfront....... and it failed
this now means i have no more options left to run a raytrace rendering program..... which means i am unable to obtain a satisfactory mark..... hmmmm what to do????
what do you suggest? shall i just concentrate on my concept instead of comparissons and just use mental ray , or use the basic scanline renderer and compare its ablilty and accuracy with mental ray??
thanks willy

Mike
i have currently been tring to render my building which was built half in revit and half Auto CAD...... i have tried rendering in 3Ds MAX but it is not happening... after seting up the model with a sun and defult materials i click render and user error messages pop up saying undefined components and layers etc then closes...... would you be able to troubleshoot me??
i have tried many times on numerous computers but still no luck....
i am also aware that we need to compare to rendering devices (radiosity and raytrace) however Rayfront seems too be my last hope.......
thanks willy
