light meter
Posted 10 Jun 2006 at 8:14pm to the the new modern art museum project
section perspective rendered with light meter. Located in the end of a glass cube surrounding the inner core of the tadao ando museum. The 'section' is a perspective taken as archicad has been down and as we had no access to our model to make a section cut we decided this was relevant. This building was har to find an appropriate section as the spaces are either completely surrounded by glazing or contained in a concrete cube.

just been pottering away with the old viz thing. getting things under control but boy do my renders take a lon gtime. one small quicktime took nearly 2 hours, dam all that glass and water. but it looks kool. not looking forward to how long it will take with more materials and umped up final gathers. heres a wee trial of the stairway. cant get teh glass going properly and stairs too bright.

funny how just when you are counting on using the computers for access to viz to produce multiple renders in fast time to catch up from being so busy with design it wont let you. the network has crashed once again, i am unable to access anything except for the internet, not even my exegesis i was working on thats due for design on wed. so i thought id vent my annoyance. lets just say im getting further and further behind as the network decides to disappear on a frequent basis for extended periods of time.

I have now put my webpage into the r-drive. I forgot when mike was testing out something on webpages for the tutors ages ago that when he set mine up the remote folder was to reasonate. i have now changed that to the rdrive with my local still being the i-drive. it now seems to be working fine from the r-drive .
but this is probably your 20th email in relation to this issue and i probably should know the answer but my index file is one folder down. i open my handin folder then my assignment two folder which its in along with folders containing pages, images etc. so it is the second folder down. what is the easiest way to get my index page to the top? I am concerned that i will accidently delete my files in the process of shifting the index page. a couple of peopl ehave said theirs works form the second folder down so is there anything else i might have done wrong?
thanks, sorry to be a pain

And before I forget me and ursula had trouble trying to get our building back nto google earth. we placemarked, got it into sketchup fine and edited it to fit the map. we then went to export it to put it into google earth and it kept saying the dirctory couldnt be made? and something else about the edit of the picture which we werent editing at the time.... not sure but we have sketch up file saved if needed to try again when we know how.

Julie Cook: a bit of a problem
28 Apr 2006 at 1:28am
we were having difficulties as a team saving information to the intial base file. this was revealed to be because the initial scanned pictures had been saved as a dwg file. we were also coming across the problem of the libraries taking 5/6 mins to download. to resolve this we got a hand and deleted a couple of libraries from the manager and now the archicad program downloads straight away. we started basically again by cutting and pasting the scanned pictures and slab from the main file
