Posted 27 May 2006 at 3:38pm to Amun's personal blog
Also Created a landscape around the building so ill be able to take external renders outside the building and show how the shadows also effect the building outside.
Finally Parting ways and giving some of my details to Chan
Posted 27 May 2006 at 2:53pm to Amun's personal blog
After Doing some renders of the interior of the main space in building some of the details that chan had built werent there or were a bit off so ive had to rebuiild them .
Ive also added some stairs where his and my half meet so the levels line up properly. And added to the stairs so that they meet up to the ground.
Ive also added a hand rails all thewalk ways inside the main space which wasnt there before also on the mezzanine floor.
Ive also created the metal caps on the stairs as an extra detail.
Ive given all these details to Chan because the model he has is missing these detials and arnt lining up properly.
The high lighted blue area is the places where i had to fix up and add things to it.
Assigning Materials
Posted 26 May 2006 at 1:42am to Amun's personal blog
Its not as easy as it sounds. First of all u have to get the right materials which is a mission on its own. Then you have to get the light right which is harder because the render look crap if the lighting is wrong and finally the mapping. All the materials needed bump maps so i had to go and create it in photshop. That whole processes takes hours because it has to assigned and then renders have to be run which take alot of time to the texture that is created on the surfaces of the building. Ive spent 2 days on assigning default scan line materials and it just dosent look right.

Rendering Model
Posted 22 May 2006 at 10:56am to Amun's personal blog
I have spilt my by building into three different models so that it is easiler to render and faster. I may have to apply materials to the building 6 times but hopefully its faster to render.

Finally Finished all Detail Modeling
Posted 22 May 2006 at 12:15am to Amun's personal blog
Chan and I xrefed our models together 4 days ago and so I finally finished all my cad detail modeling. Ive also finished building the ground floor of the new art gallery which has a gallery space beneath it. I also had to move the walk way around in my half of the cystal bit so that it would fit my bit properly and also added a stair case to walkway.
Addition to theme
Posted 20 May 2006 at 1:09am to Amun's personal blog
I would alos like to show how the experience of the space changes form completely daylit areas in the building to artifical lit rooms. One area is totally controled while the other can change and there is no control in that area and also how shadows play a big part in these areas.

Theme
Posted 16 May 2006 at 2:15pm to Amun's personal blog
Talked to Mike Today and i was getting ideas of the theme of my assignment. I decided to do something to do with the shadows that are created by the the exterior surfaces of the building into the interior and how they change through out the day. It creates different types of shadows on surfaces at different times like creating a different place inside the building and never the same at different times of day.
