Himejji, Japan

This building has many interesting interceptions. Spaces are large and well connected through different manners, particularly light. Natural light and interior light is well blended. The interception between the spaces and the mixed uses of light may enhance the render.

After discussion with my partner, yimeng wang, I am going to model the basement and the first floor. Space I focus on is the mutilfunctional halls 11, which can exhibiti the temporary arts, in basement and first floor. The other space i will render is the gallery 6 in first floor.

Hi

I note that only one person is registered as a 'Project Participant'?

Does this mean that only one person is left doing the course? Or are you both still enrolled?

Remember that to do assignment 2 well you need to be blogging progress all the time, not just at the end of the course.

Mike Donn: More info needed

20 Apr 2006 at 3:40pm

As noted in the previous project you proposed:

Your posting of this project is interesting, but it seems to miss the point: of what has been presented in lectures and more importantly what has been written in the assignment statements.

First: there only seem to be a couple of rooms that one could class as Galleries in your building proposal. You have apparently not taken notice of the comments in others' blog entries as well as on the Assignment 1 statement that tell you that AT AN ABSOLUTE MINIMUM you must EACH have 3 major (gallery) spaces that you are responsible for modelling. So AT A MINIMUM your combined building will have the outer walls and these 6 spaces! I cannot identify 6 spaces in this building either, and there is no annotation of who is doing what from which i could test / assess your proposal.
And a repeat of my previous reminder: You must both do the modelling adn the required renders, and your theme interpreting the building in rendered images must be different than your partner's.

Unless you can (as others have done) point out what I have missed in your proposal that meets the requirements of the course, this building will also be DECLINED.

Dazhi He: question about the multipurpose space

20 Apr 2006 at 3:55pm

I look on the plans carefully, and I know there are 3 permanent galleries on the second floor and 1 is on the first floor.

In addition, there are 2 large space are designed as multipurpose. They are also designed to meet the gallery standard. They are in the basement and the the first floor. This is mentioned on the book.

So can I count them as gallery space as well?

Yimeng Wang: My part of work

20 Apr 2006 at 5:23pm

This building is designed by one of the top architect Tado, who is particularly good at using light. The light inside the building is so amazing and would become good render.

I will do the second and the third floors. I am doing the 3 permanent galleries in the second floor.

Mike Donn: Graphics of what you plan to do required...

Gidday guys

Pictures - we need pictures. I believe that the case has basically been made that you may have enough spaces of the correct type but you need to document this with coloured in sections of the plans showing colour coding of who is doing what AND associating this with the scanned pictures of the relevant spaces...

here is the powerpoint file with viz renderings. BUT I have some trouble with the embeded 3D model. The building "collapsed" in the powr point. I added 3ds model into the powerpoint anyway

Also I upload my original cad files -both  individual work, and the group work.

A stardard floor plan for both of us is done. Each of us will do 2 levels based on this "stardard" CAD drawing.
