Yamaguchi, Japan

This is a cultural complex comprising a library and 3 studios. The aim of the building is to provide flexible space. The spatial quality of the building is further enhanced of the use of light. This may be good for the renders.

Very Real Problems Still

Your posting of this project is interesting, but it seems to miss the point: of what has been poresented in lectures and more importantly what has been written in the assignment statements.

First: there only seem to be a couple of rooms that one could class as Galleries in your building proposal. You have apparently not taken notice of the comments in others' blog entries as well as on the Assignment 1 statement that tell you that AT AN ABSOLUTE MINIMUM you must EACH have 3 major (gallery) spaces that you are responsible for modelling. So AT A MINIMUM your combined building  will have the outer walls and these 6 spaces!

Second: you statement of what you plan to do says:

After discussion with my partner Yimeng Wang, we decide each to make one floor model. Yimeng would do the ground floor model, and i will finish the roof and the second floor. As Yimeng has a much faster machine, he will take most of the rendering work.

This is NOT PERMITTED. You must both do the required renders, and your theme interpreting the building in rendered images must be different than your partner's.

Unless you can (as others have done) point out what I have missed in your proposal that meets the requirements of the course, this building is DECLINED.

Elevations, plans, sections and etc, are all provided. Some of the material information are also given on the book. We also look through the website and find some important information about the skylights' detail. This would be uploaded in a while.
