better renders
Posted 23 May 2006 at 3:27pm by Jeremy Chan
The issue with the dark shadow in viz has been sorted kinda. i messed around with the meshing settings and the contrast set points in the under the rendering quality in viz. It works to an extent but ive have yet to get the best settings for my renders it is either too dark or too light.

detail
Posted 17 May 2006 at 12:44pm by Jeremy Chan
ive been adding in some finer detail to our model as we are going to make a final copy. There are still some parts of the model that i would like to improve but we have decided that it is best to do those parts speerately as we are going to have different views and will need different details.

attached is the powerpoint display. the results are ok . Amun and i fell that its still very unfinished and alot more modeling will have to be done to get the number of required spaces. The old building will be modeled in more detail. so far so good
update

i havent been posting much lately. Ive just from the last update ive constructed the old existing building and the stairs and walkway in the interior of the museum. I have still to do the interior of the old museum and the lecture theater in the back of the building.
Amun and i have put our models together for assignment one appart from some minor measurments the half fitted together well.
framing
Posted 17 Apr 2006 at 1:22pm by Jeremy Chan
ive just modeled the supporting framing to the glass structure. This has been very hard as i have had to rotate each member in place. guess and check is what im doing realy. All the joints will need to be redone at some point as they dont connect up that well because of the method ive use. Ill figure out what renders and tidy up the joints in view the best.

Amun and i xrefed our models together. just to see what it looked like. Its comming together well dispite our slow starts. joining our two models also enabled use to see where our model where too small or big in places as the roof and the glazing pannel intersected in one place because i hadent followed the plan.

The small things

I wanted to make the glazing pannel into small sheet that joined to create the large glazing face that you see in the picture. i copied the glazing lines in the pictures. I managed to do this by getting the out line of the shape in on the right angle and extruding it to a thickness then subtracting each pannel from it and placing them next to eaxh other to the the origional shape. This looks good in autocad but when taken to viz all the pannels are on one layer so they are you can see one from the other. I cant find a way to get each pannel defined without putting them on all fidderent layers.
slow progress

Im getting there i think.
ive managed to get more of the front of the building on.
the glass under the sun shade and a bit above.
the andels are still giving me a bit of a hard time as nothing ever seems to connect up and it seem that its getting worse the more i make.

Getting there

ive managed to get the glazing on with the structure behind it. some shading pannels have also been placed. I'm going to make the rest of the shading pannels but put hem on different layers just incase we dont want to use them in our renders. I made the glazing first then using the template of the glazing pannel rotated from the top and side to make it flat made the structure. After making the structure i then had to make it smaller a i had made it the same size as the glazing pannel. lucky i hadent unioned it at that stage.
