Sayamaike historical Museum: Assignment 1a PowerPoint
Posted 08 May 2006 at 11:35am to the Sayamaike Historical Museum (Tadao Ando Architects) project
This is the final submission as part of assignment 1a due tomorrow (9/5/06), this is a power point analysis of the final CAD model completed in archicad but not entirely modelled because of partners non contribution.
This file includes all preliminary renders (blogged 8/5/06) and an embedded 3ds file with only one saved view point. Note: could not find in tutorials how to use deep publisher to save 3 different views.
The final page of this document is a perspective section to show points that the analysis of interior light will be of interest. G

Sayamaike historical Museum: Assignment 1a Images
Posted 08 May 2006 at 11:21am to the Sayamaike Historical Museum (Tadao Ando Architects) project
Some final renders for assignment 1a out of archicad, one material applied in most situations. One light source I think, the sun was turned on and was set to contribute to the ambient light was set as on.
Copies of these files are in hand-in floder on R drive. G

Sayamaike Historical Museum: Final CAD File.
Posted 07 May 2006 at 4:33pm to the Sayamaike Historical Museum (Tadao Ando Architects) project
Final ArchiCAD file attached for my section of the building, CAD renders taken from this model for the power point file as part of assessment 1a.
Perspective sections and 3ds files also saved out form this final file.
Note: The complete building is only semi complete, and there has been no indication from my partner as to whether or not his section of the model is ready to be conbined, renders assume his sections of the building in volume form only. G

Sayamaike Historical Museum - Trail 3d Sections
Posted 05 May 2006 at 2:10pm to the Sayamaike Historical Museum (Tadao Ando Architects) project
Attached are trail 3d sections to explore the nature of the light with the intreior spaces, specifcally relating to my portion of the model. the areas of interest include the sky lights down the length of the main gallery and also the passage way canopied by a water fall, crucial relationships between light and texture. G
Note: Partner has been notified of the final stages of the modelling process but has been unresponsive, (His) section of the model is included in the background of the images with 1 material applied. G

Sayamaike Historical Museum - Modelling Images
Posted 05 May 2006 at 1:38pm to the Sayamaike Historical Museum (Tadao Ando Architects) project
Attached are images of the trouble areas of the structure which required special techniques in the modelling process, the list below describes which archicad tools I used to match as close as possible to the actual built form from researched images:
Image 1: Spiral Stairs: these had to be made using individual slabs and then using the rotate multiple tool to spiral them. In section each level could be changed.
Image 2: Curved Walkway: the floor was project through the wall and applied to the corved form by the magic wond tool.
Image 3: Internal Excavation: the archiological form in the centre of the building stretches up some 20 m and was formed by drawing a wall and using the trim to roof tool to cretae the pyramid shape.
Image 4: Water Fall Canopy: using the wall tool I created small section of wall at random lengths then grouping tese elements and multipled them down the length of the water feature. by appling the material of water to the walls and slabs within the feature I could determine what was structure and what was feature.
Image 5: Curved Hand Rail: this is simply a a section of wall cretaed from a semi circle using the magic wond tool, with peramiters set to 900mm above the mezzinine floor height, and 75mm wide. material: Stainless steel.
Image 6: Ramped Entry: the main entry from street level is a ramp which dives below to canopies and enters the building on the eastern side of the building.
Using the roof tool with floor material applied and a thickness of 800mm at a pitch of 12deg. the ramp was formed. to position the ramp at the correct level I moved in and out of section using the cross section tool.
